Who is this Baz O'Malley?

bazBaz (born Barry Cliff Richard O’Malley) was born in the town of Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath on Oct 21st 1980. He grew up on a sleepy farm on the outskirts of the town, but always dreamed of a life in the spotlight. This ‘untapped potential’ was contradicted throughout his stint at St. Enda’s all-boys secondary school, where he was described at various points by his teachers as ‘lazy’, ‘socially inept’ and a ‘potential sex offender’. Dismissing these statements as ‘the jibes of sycophants and green-eyed geebags’, he left his modest upbringing and moved to Dublin to pursue a career in television presenting. Several dozen rejections and forced ejections from auditions meant he parked his dreams for a time to pursue a job in finance. It was at this point in 2002 that he was first cautioned by police for stalking Pat Kenny.

On June 12th 2009 Baz was arrested again, for allegedly trying to jump in the passenger seat of Vincent Browne’s Vauxhall Nova. After spending the night in Store Street Garda station, Baz had what he later described as ‘an epiphany’. "Rather than try and crack the key to great television presenting through following and occasionally going through mail of TV personalities I admire, I had to go back to square one, to return to what I was born to do," he later claimed.

At his lowest ebb, Baz emerged with a newfound sense of purpose. Rather than risk further jail time for trying to ‘interview’ various television presenters, it was now his ambition to get a TV show up and running by any means necessary.

By day he's a mild-mannered bank clerk. By night he has devoted himself to becoming the new face of online TV.

At the time of writing Baz is currently leading a double life. By day he's a mild-mannered bank clerk. By night he has devoted himself to becoming the new face of online TV.

In his spare time Baz enjoys attempting to read classic Greek and Roman literature in its original dialect, masquerading as young asian women on Second Life, and watching his vast collection of vampire DVDs at his rented house in Whitehall. Mixed reports suggest he is romantically involved with Una Regan, daughter of George Regan, co-founder of the Noble-Regan shipping company.

Eamo Lucas, genius behind the camera.

eamoEamon ‘Eamo’ Lucas was born on the 11th March 1983 and is producer, director, vision mixer and editor for the online TV series Bazcast. He is also responsible for the creation and upkeep of Bazcast's parent website.

Eamo was inspired by his namesake George to go into filmmaking at an early age. Beginning with homemade Super-8s shot and cut at his childhood home in West Cork, he decided to enroll in a television and film production course at Ballyfermot, Dublin after he finished secondary school. Unfortunately, Eamo's controversial views on the portrayal of the Nazis in Schindler's List clashed with the ethical code at Ballyfermot and he forced to leave the course.

Eamo became something of a local video guru to budding young filmmakers.

Undeterred, Eamo continued to invest heavily in film production gear using funds raised from a combination of late night shifts at 24-hour Tesco's and volunteering for various medical research studies. Because of this Eamo became something of a local video guru to budding young filmmakers. Relative success was to follow; his music video for up-and-comers 'The Hostiles' appearing in the Swedish chart show for their cult hit ‘Ring my ding-dong’. This was followed a year later by his documentary ‘A Glove of Love’, a harrowing depiction of the love between a man and his hand puppet. ‘AGOL’ would go on to be shortlisted for Best Short Documentary at the Darklight Film Festival.

While Eamo seemed to be on the cusp of greatness, a series of questionable film selections and on-set breakdowns resulted in him being blacklisted from the local film scene. Bitter, Eamo withdrew to his home studio where he began working on a series of outlandish TV game show formats in the hope that one of these would be picked up and syndicated worldwide.

After several years out of the limelight, Eamo was approached in mid-2009 by longtime acquaintance and housemate Baz O'Malley about a possible online collaborative effort where he would be given almost entire behind-the-scene creative control. Experts believe his relative success behind the camera would seem the perfect foil for Baz's blind hope and total inexperience.
